ABOUT
Lauren Alleman is an emerging artist based in Springville, Utah, graduating from Brigham Young University in 2026 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Working primarily in painting, photography, and graphic design, she explores the interconnected ideas of memory, color, and pattern.
Alleman begins each painting with a base layer of watered-down acrylic, allowing fluid patterns to emerge before developing the work in oil. This process creates surfaces that feel thoughtful, slow, and suspended; Visual moments that seem gently frozen in time.
Her practice is deeply informed by the vivid color sensibilities of Fauvism, the meticulous detail of Renaissance art, and the expressive mark-making of Helen Frankenthaler and other Abstract Expressionists. Photography serves as a parallel practice, enabling her to capture fleeting instants that later become the foundation for her painted work. Through this interplay of mediums, Alleman invites viewers to experience a subtle slowing of time and to reflect on the quiet significance within everyday moments.
